How We Use Laser Dentistry
At Golden Hill Family Dentistry, we use two types of dental lasers to treat our patients:
Our “Big Laser” (High-Powered Laser)
This laser handles more involved treatments like:
- Prepping simple fillings (without the noise or vibration of a drill!)
- Tissue removal for biopsies or reshaping
- Crown lengthening to expose more of the tooth for a better-fitting crown
This tool allows us to work with amazing accuracy, removing just the tissue or decay we need to, and leaving everything else untouched. That means faster healing, less bleeding, and often zero need for stitches or sedation.
Our “Small Laser” (Soft-Tissue Hygiene Laser)
Used by our skilled hygienists, this gentle laser helps treat:
- Periodontal pocket decontamination
- Gum inflammation and early gum disease
- Bacteria reduction during cleanings
It targets and reduces harmful bacteria deep in the gum pockets, helping you keep gum disease under control without surgery or discomfort.
